Through Operation Giving Back, Danielle and Marie-Laure of AHHOrg are extending gratitude to returning troops for their valiant work by offering free treatments for our veterans and greatly reduced rates for their families. They wish to thank them for risking their lives for American citizens, enabling us to live in a free home and country, where our children can safely grow up and go to school.

I don’t feel depressed anymore and life seems to have more sustenance. Overall, I feel a lot better about me. And I thank NeurOptimal for that.”

How does a story that involves assistance for returning US military combat veterans have it’s beginning in Paris France?

Danielle Chavalarias was born just after World War II to French war-survivor parents. Both parents were part of the resistance movement against the invader during war WW II and directly participated in the liberation of France by risking their lives. Both parents taught Danielle their admiration of American people who had greatly helped in the liberation of France, along with courage and self-sacrifice displayed by the U.S. soldiers to free their country.

They taught Danielle American values such as respect, freedom and courage. Danielle transmitted these values to her daughter and today, both are American citizens, who want to give back to war veterans peace and balance in their lives.

As a result, in 1971, after earning her first diploma in Naturopathy, Danielle quickly went for her specialization in psycho-trauma and emotional intelligence. Thereafter, she founded a Holistic Healing Center in Toulouse, in the Southwest of France that also raised funds to build primary schools and hospitals in Senegal, Africa. It was at that time that her daughter, Marie-Laure, while working on her PhD in Sociology, became actively involved in running and expanding the organization from 1988 through 2000.

Danielle arrived in America in January 2000, in order to further her Holistic and Naturopathic training and studies.

Marie-Laure came soon after in order to attend Summer School at UC Berkley. She fell in love and married an American. Their son, Ari, was born in Encinitas, California.

Meanwhile, their fervor for healing and helping others never changed, so establishing a Healing Arts Center in Encinitas in 2006 was simply the next logical step for this motivated mother-daughter team. They each became American citizens in September 2006 and January 2007.

As the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts heated up, stories of returning combat veterans facing severe personal emotional and psychological challenges due to lack of funding for treatment began to surface in the press.

Danielle and Marie-Laure touched by the needs of these returning war veterans, and remembering the stories from their parents and grandparents of the WW II GI’s decided to start Operation Giving Back.
